Body Liberation with Jenn Melyan
“Each body is a complete miraculous machine.”
Summary of Episode:
Jenn talks to Jenn Melyan founder of A Fat Perspective a platform that shares conversations about bodies of all types an how we portray the term “fat” in our society and culture. Jenn shares her experience on how gaining weight impacted her and why she created A Fat Perspective. From being dumped by her boyfriend to being verbally abused by her own mother about her weight, having no self confidence and tools to learn how to love herself in a fat healthy body. She opens up about her healing process and her journey and why she is so passionate about educating more people about body liberation, debunking fat phobia and more awareness so we can all have a positive approach to diverse bodies and the stigmas.
I firmly believe that the only way we can ever shift people’s perspective on anything is through sharing our stories. Until we are able to share and listen there is no room for hate.
