Watering Seeds of Compassion with Steph Bovis
“Sometimes you don't realize that you are struggling or that you are lost, but your behavior tells you otherwise.”
Summary of Episode:
Jenn speaks to Singapore-based yin yoga, meditation teacher, host, and voice-over artist Steph Bovis. We talk about navigating career changes and how all your experiences at the end of the day sum up to what you do. How accumulating emotions and energy results in an awakening period where some of us go on our eat, pray, love journey to acknowledge and nourish ourselves. Why finding space to work on self-love and self-compassion is key in our growth and being a kinder human being. Steph also walks us through the RAIN meditation technique by Tara Brach where she encourages people to look into this if they find themselves in need of watering those seeds of compassion within.
Watering the seeds of my own compassion, because I realized how much I actually didn't have self-compassion.
About Steph Bovis:
Stephanie's meditation journey began in 2012 when she joined a community called Satsanga, founded by one of her first yoga and meditation teachers, Amber Sawyer. She completed her Active Meditation Teacher Training in 2015, and has since shared Osho Active Meditations at festivals (Wonderfruit, Garden Beats) and also online through various partnerships. You can expect a nourishing, nurturing journey during her classes. She hopes to offer her students a brief moment of calm in their lives, and will hopefully equip them with the tools so that their practice can continue on. Stephanie also specializes in yin yoga, a slower-paced class that focuses on increasing flexibility in the body, as well as providing a gateway to practicing breathwork and meditation. She is currently enrolled in a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program led by world-renowned meditation teachers, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. She will graduate in 2023.
